PGHevents: The Pittsburgh Events Web Site began at www.pghevents.com on January 3, 1999 by James A. Richards as a precursor to Managerie. It soon became the most popular stand-alone online event calendar in the region. In 2004, a start-up technology firm redesigned it and in April 2006 an agreement was made to move it to www.post-gazette.com/events.
